Bhuj's sunset hill — a hilltop shrine looking down over the whole city

Above the rooftops
Hanuman Tekri sits on a low hill on Bhuj's edge, reached by a short flight of steps that most locals climb at least once a week. From the top, the whole city — Hamirsar Lake, the old walled town, the newer suburbs — spreads out below.

The shrine
The small Hanuman temple at the summit is unpretentious, but its position makes it a favourite evening stop — as much for the view and the breeze as for the darshan.

Sunset over Bhuj
This is the spot locals actually recommend for sunset, well ahead of anything advertised to tourists — arrive half an hour before dusk and the steps fill with families doing exactly the same thing.
